Ticket hike plays spoilsport

A handful of Mumbai’s oldest theatres have decided to not screen Aamir Khan-starrer PK, which released on December 19. Reason? Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra wants a substantially increased price for the film. This will result in a hike of almost 100 percent in the ticket rates. Let’s hope the issue gets resolved soon because PK is worth a watch.

Shah Rukh’s philosophical speech

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, who has acquired a sizeable number of fans overseas, recently met a bunch of Stanford University (California, US) students in Mumbai. In the city, to meet public figures who’ve done well in their respective fields, SRK was right at the top of their list.

Shah Rukh, who made quite an impression with his articulate speech at Yale a while ago, shared his life experiences during the interaction. He also spoke about Fan, the new film he is currently shooting for, directed by Manish Sharma.

“I don’t have a speech prepared and I won’t be able to tell you about business. But yes, I can share with you the frailties that I have as a person. Because no matter how successful you are and no matter how much money you have, your frailties always remain with you,” Shah Rukh told the students. “Frailties or failures need to be celebrated. One should never fear them, but should learn from them. And you will only learn from them and not fear them when you have the feeling that you have nothing to lose. I always like to go back to that feeling,” the 49-year-old actor said.
